This was a tough poll for me to fill out, because the two times I've written him in fic - which is how I nail down my personal perception of a character - I've written him very differently both times.

I didn't answer the question of hair color because you didn't include what I imagine, which is dark brown shot through with strands of reddish-blond. As for glasses, freckles, etc. I really liked that drawing you did of all the next-gen kids that had James II with glasses, but I don't personally imagine him that way. In fact, when I've written him, I haven't gotten that detailed in my description. So I left that one blank too.

As for personality... that's where I really had trouble, because of how I've written him. In one fic he was an arrogant, bullying prick, a lot like his grandfather had been, largely because the burden of being the eldest child of Harry Potter had gotten the better of him, and I imagine Harry and Ginny as being rather indulgent parents (not that they'd spoil him, just that they might love him too much to want to notice his less-admirable qualities). The other time I wrote him, though, he was warm and outgoing and had the reputation of being a flirt and a lady-killer. That said, in both cases I think he'd be very bright but lazy, adept with a broomstick, and want to be an Auror like his father.

I didn't pick a hair color because the one I picture was missing - a light reddish-brown to auburn. But definitely on the messy end of the spectrum. :D

I think in personality he's pretty much a duplicate of his father, including being smart but lazy, clueless about the opposite sex, and with tremendous heart and spirit. Of course, he is a cocky little SOB, but I imagine him out-growing that.

But what do I know? I haven't even tried to write James 2.0; I like Al better. :D

I picked black and straight for the hair, because Al's is black and messy. I picture him with brown hair, tho. If I think of him at all --which I don't, really.

Black hair is more dominant than red.

yes, yes. i know. there are red-head genes from both Weasley & Potter side, but black hair ftw. :D

actually, if Harry is a carrier for red hair (which apparently he is, due to his daughter having red hair) then that means that his offspring have a 50/50 chance of having black or red hair, despite black being dominant.

Either way, Harry would HAVE to be a carrier for red hair. Even if James 1 was HH, Lily 1 would be hh, so Harry would have to be Hh. If James 1 happened to be Hh, then Harry would have to be Hh anyway (since if Harry were hh, he'd have red hair too).
Just don't make me break out the charts...

I imagine him to be exactlly like his Grandfather BUT since his brother is meant to have those characteristics I imagine some slight differences in looks.
I wanted REALLY badly to pick him with blue eyes becuase I can imagine that very nicely but I don't see it in my imagination. Neither do I see glasses. Maybe freckles but I always thought he'd be the dream boy of Hogwarts so I think tanning would be nice. But he probably won't attract any girls till 3rd year. All the girls would finding to be an annoying prankster till then.
